About Dr Neha

She has accumulated extensive clinical experience in the field of neurosurgery and general surgery through a structured and progressive training pathway. Since January 2023, she has been serving as a Clinical Associate in the Department of General and Functional Neurosurgery at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, where she continues to refine her surgical skills and clinical acumen.

Experiences of Dr. Neha

Prior to this role, she worked as a Senior Resident in the same department from August 2022 to December 2022, contributing actively to patient care, surgical procedures, and academic discussions. Also she left Jaslok Hospital in Oct,2024 and joined at Livasa Hospital from January 2025 onwards as a Consultant Neurosurgeon. 

From August 2019 to August 2022, She has completed her three-year tenure as a Junior Resident in Department of Neurosurgery at Jaslok Hospital Mumbai, where she gained hands-on experience in managing neurosurgical cases, pre- and post-operative care, and emergency procedures.

Earlier in her career, she served as a Junior Resident in the Department of General Surgery at Government Medical College (GMC) Patiala, Punjab  from May 2016 to June 2019. This foundational period helped her develop a strong surgical base and an in-depth understanding of general surgical principles and practices.

Her medical journey began with a one-year compulsory rotatory internship at Government Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, in 2014–2015, following the completion of her MBBS, where she rotated through various clinical departments and built a solid foundation in patient care.

She possesses specialized knowledge and hands-on experience in the medical and surgical management of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Her neurosurgical training has equipped her to conduct and assist in a wide range of general neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies, spinal surgeries, and tumor removal surgeries.

She is  well-versed in managing both acute and chronic neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injuries and strokes, ensuring continuity of care from initial diagnosis through surgical intervention to rehabilitation.

She is confident in handling neurological emergencies independently and efficiently. Her strengths also include excellent diagnostic skills, thorough understanding of disease management, and strong communication abilities, which contribute to a compassionate and patient-centered approach of care.

Research and Publications

She has been actively involved in clinical research and academic writing, particularly in the field of neuromodulation and movement disorders. One of her key contributions includes a PUBMED-indexed article titled “Surgical and Hardware Complications of Deep Brain Stimulation: A Single-Surgeon Experience of 519 Cases Over 20 Years”, published in the International Neuromodulation Journal in 2021 and revised in 2022. This work received the Best Research Paper Award in the Original Research category in 2022 at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai.

Another significant publication is “Combined Motor Cortex and Spinal Cord Stimulation in Chronic Post-Stroke Pain and Neuropathic Pain”, which appeared in the Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface journal in October 2022. 

In 2023, her case report on “Parkinsonism Hyperpyrexia Syndrome (PHS) Crisis Following Deep Brain Stimulator Battery Depletion” was published in the Annals of Neurology India.

In addition to these, She regularly attends Bombay Neurological Association (BNA) meets, Neuro-Radiology quarterly meetings, and various cadaveric surgical workshops to stay updated with evolving neurosurgical techniques and best practices.

She actively contributed to academic publishing and peer review as an Editorial Board Member for the Clinical Neuroscience & Neurological Research International Journal (CNNRIJ), and as an Associate Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Neonatal Research and Pediatric Care (JNRPC). These roles allow her to stay engaged with the latest developments in neuroscience research and contribute to the scientific community through critical evaluation and editorial oversight.

Educations of Dr. Neha


She completed her DrNB in Neurosurgery from Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, between 2019 and 2022, where she received advanced training in general and functional neurosurgical procedures. Prior to this, she earned her MS in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Patiala, Punjab, from 2016 to 2019.

Her medical journey began with an MBBS degree, including a one-year compulsory rotatory internship, from Government Medical College, Patiala, which I completed between 2009 to  2014.
